Stay Curious: May Inspirations
Escaping May-Gray in Los Angeles with a variety of creative outlets.
It’s interesting how each month there seems to be a natural theme to the things I’m inspired by and gravitate towards. This month the reoccurring theme was the Convergence of Art & Architecture. Three separate examples, The Future Perfect House, The Hollyhock House and The Schindler House, utilized their respectively unique spaces to showcase contemporary works of art in relation to the beautiful, historic architecture hosting the exhibitions. These collaborations feel fresh and inspiring, offering a way of seeing and experiencing art and design that’s accessible and more relatable outside of the hallowed walls of traditional museums and stark galleries.
The convergence of ART & ARCHITECTURE:
The Future Perfect House, Los Angeles
“The Future Perfect’s Goldwyn House, located at the base of the Hollywood Hills, presents visitors with a residential concept gallery. The home was built in 1916 by architect Arthur S. Heineman and most notably occupied by the famed movie producer, Samuel Goldwyn. The experiential and exclusive environment of old Hollywood residence and gallery in one creates a unique space to view culturally important works in a novel way.”
Every room in this historic home and it’s gardens are impeccably curated, highlighting contemporary art, design, lighting and sculpture all of which are available for purchase if you have the means and desire.
The Goldwyn House is open from 10am - 6pm, Monday - Friday.
